some info on Nerjacity maps
Nerja is about 55 km (about 35 miles) from Malaga, in the direction of Motril and Almeria.
By car, it's about one and a half hours from Granada and the Sierra Nevada.
Nerja is part of the Costa del Sol and enjoys - together with Torrox, Frigliani and Torre del Mar, an exceptional climate. In winter, the temperature is a few degrees above and in summer, a few degrees below that in most other villages of the Costa del Sol. This is because the Sierra Almijara protects this part of the Costa del Sol from the cold coming from the North in winter and the heat of the inner country in summer. While it might be 45°C in Cordoba, Seville or Granada, it will only be between 30o and 35°C in Nerja.
Las cuevas de Nerja [link] are the most important caves in Spain and are the third most important tourist attraction, after the Alhambra (Granada) and El Museo del Prado (Madrid).
Nerja was also the setting of the popular Spanish TV soap "Verano Azul", which made our village known throughout Spain and many Spanish-speaking countries.
Nerja is also renowned for its language schools: there are four schools here, where young and not-so-young can learn Spanish conversation and grammar.
It is said that Nerja has about 600 tapas bars, cafes and restaurants.
Although Nerja will get it's own golf, at this moment there are golf possibilities at about 25 km away from Nerja.
Naturists can find a nice beach at a few kilometer away from Casa Charlotte.
Several small paths will lead the hikers to unique spots in the rich nature of Nerja and surroundings.
